Sprang (liquid) is unique biological supplement for the plants developed by Proothvi Biotech Private Limited through high tech fermentation process and innovative biological production technique. The dried granulated seaweed powder and other biological inputs undergo the specialized process to formulate Sprang Liquid. The usage of Sprang results in increased growth rates, better health and vigor of the plant and ultimately higher yields.

 

Why Sprang Seaweed extracts have long been used in agriculture and horticulture?

 

They are routinely used worldwide for variety of crops. A wide range of beneficial effects have been reported from the use of Sprang Liquid seaweed extracts including increase crop yields, quality produce, better plant resistance to stress, increased uptake of inorganic constituents from the soil, resistance to frost and reduction in storage losses of fruits. These extracts are capable of having an effect at a low concentration, which results in very small quantities of input material being used. Sprang is a concentrated, standardized and high quality Seaweed extract (flakes) and proteins fermented in presence of beneficial microbes  under controlled conditions. It is a natural product derived from seaweed from the unpolluted nutrition. Sprang contains a full complement of metabolically active compounds. These unique compounds are absorbed immediately and act as regulatory signals; activators or catalysts to produce synchronized and accelerated growth under all conditions.

WHAT IS SPRANG

Sprang (liquid) is a biological nutritional support intended for foliar application on plants, trees and other types of plant tissues. Sprang (granules) is a biological nourishment for soil. Sprang contains four major components:

  1. Cytokinins and auxin precursors
  2. Enzymes
  3. Micro-element
  4. Hydrolyzed proteins

 

1) Cytokinins and auxin precursors:

 

These are natural plant growth promoters, present in very small amounts which promote the growth and development of plants. They induce and control plant development in all stages; germination of seeds, growth of seedlings, branching, blooming, root mass, transition from vegetative to reproductive stages and setting of fruits and growth and maturation of seeds. An adequate balance of plant growth promoters also increase the plant tolerance to stress conditions (Water logging, frost, salinity, viruses, etc.).

 

2)  Enzymes:

 

Enzymes are organic molecules, which trigger and accelerate the biochemical reactions occurring in the living cell. Enzymes also break down complex molecules in simpler ones (act as catalyzing agents). They are of two types- exo- and endo-enzymes. Endo-enzymes catalyse all reactions within a plant including photosynthesis, oxidation, biosynthesis and decomposition of sugars, proteins, and lipids, biosynthesis of growth promoters, nucleic acids etc. Exo-enzymes work outside the cell and breakdown the complex molecules like urea to nitrogen by urease enzyme, which can be utilized by cells.

 

Exo-enzymes existing in Sprang products decompose complex organic molecules into simple molecules (amino acids, simple sugars, fatty acids) which can be easily absorbed by the roots of plants and by soil micro flora such bacteria, fungi and algae. Amino acids, simple sugars and fatty acids are basic organic compounds of all living cells. Soil application of Sprang also helps to reduce fixation of fertilizers in soil.

 

3)  Micro-elements:

 

Once the enzymatic biochemistry and the cellular metabolism have been developed in response to growth regulatory enzyme complexes, organic microelements can then be transported into the cell by more active membrane transferase enzymes.

 

4)  Hydrolyzed Proteins

 

Protein complexes exist in all living organisms and play a very important role as structural components of cells and as enzymes. They are biosynthesized in cells from amino acids. Sprang (liquid) contains hydrolyzed proteins. Decomposition of protein complexes lead to appearance of small peptides and free amino acid compounds which are needed in small amounts for cell growth and ultimately development of all plant parts, which are available in simple form for higher plants and soil microorganisms.

Application Of Sprang Foliar

 

Foliar application has been shown to be an effective method of applying nutritional support to plants, particularly when responses within short growing periods are demanded.

 

Accordingly, Sprang Foliar has been designed as a foliar spray, to be applied on the leaves of the plant. Product’s components dissolve in water, and enter through the stomata and the leaf surface waxes. In the leaf Sprang is translocated (transported) quickly through the mesophyll cells or through the inter-cellular spaces to the vascular system and by the vascular system to the plant organs where it is needed.

 

Sprang Foliar can be mixed with most liquid /soluble fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides. However, separate dilution of Sprang Foliar in water is needed before mixing with pesticides.

 

While the extent of dilution depends on the type of sprayer used, recommended dilution for a hand-sprayer (back-pack) is maximum 1:1000. The diluted mixture should not be stronger than 1:50. Fine spray application is preferred as product is systemic in nature. The spray should cover all leaves uniformly. It can be applied at any time during the day, but the morning and evening hours are preferred. Spraying is to be avoided when it is raining.
